Cardinals perform well against strong field at Patriot Games
FAIRFAX, Va. – The Cardinals competed at the Patriot Games
on Saturday afternoon, hosted by George Mason University. The
meet was highly competitive, featuring a number of Division I
schools. Robert Leeson and Joe Quigley were CUA’s top
individual finishers, posting top-10 performances in the 500
meters.
Leeson (1:09.92) and Quigley (1:10.37) finished in 8th and 9th,
respectively, in the 500-meter dash, with Jacob Maclin coming in
12th place (1:11.49).
Matthia Arauco-Shapiro finished 26th in the mile, crossing in
4:37.98, while Michael Spielberger was 44th (4:56.52), Michael Wood
45th (4:57.47) and Kian Olia 51st (5:08.40).
In the 400-meter dash, Michael Kennedy crossed in 31st place
(58.31), with Nick Pavia (58.58) and Austin Dyno (58.95) next in
line.
George Brewer was CUA’s top finisher in the 800 meters,
crossing in 21st place (2:09.76), while Dylan Gallagher (2:18.69)
and Kyle Loomie (2:29.74) finished 24th and 25th.
Collin Roszyk (2:53.67) and Lucas Milone (2:55.04) finished in
18th and 19th place, respectively, in the 1000-meter run.
At
the Lebanon Valley College Indoor Invite, Shawn Brubaker won
the weight throw with a toss of 47’ 5.75” and he later
finished 7th in the shot put with a throw of 38’
7”.
CUA is back in action on Friday, February 1 when the Cardinals
travel to the Widener Field Meet. Start time is set for 4
p.m.
