Catholic Competes at Paul Kaiser Classic
WASHINGTON - The Catholic University men's track & field team competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University on Saturday, April 26.
CUA's best finish of the day came from Greg Daley who finished 27th in the Long Jump with a 5.91 effort. Daley came in 32nd in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 19.61 seconds.
In the 400 Meter run, Jacob Maclin came in 28th with a time of 52.85, just .06 seconds ahead of Collin Roszyk at 52.91. Robert Leeson was not far behind, as his 53.26 performance earned a 32nd place finish. Daley (43rd) and Jamil Marzouka (50th) rounded out CUA's finishes with times of 55.35 and 59.05, respectively.
Eight Cardinals competed in the 800 Meter run with John Brewer taking 52nd with a 2:06.03 time ahead of Chris Derks at 2:10.72 (71st) and Leeson at 2:15.35 for 79th.
In the 1500 Meter run, Derks crossed the finish line in 4:27.76 and 39th place, while Brewer was 46th with a 4:33.62 time.
For Catholic's final event, Kevin Drummond came in 61st at the 100 Meter dash with a time of 12.58 seconds.
The Cardinals return to action this weekend when they travel to Kings Point, N.Y. for the Landmark Conference Championship hosted at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on May 3-4.
