Assistant Coach Joe Deady
A longtime friend of CUA track, Deady has come on board to help develop the distance program. He coached most recently at St. Stephens and St. Agnes in Alexandria, Va., as well as the Heights School in Potomac, Md., and St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C. One of his athletes, Jim Wright from St. Johns, came to CUA where he was the Mason Dixon cross country champion for four years in a row.
Deady was an outstanding high school middle distance runner while at Plainfield High School in New Jersey. He received an athletic scholarship to Georgetown University and was a member of the NCAA championship two-mile relay team, which set a record for the event. He also had many IC4A awards to his credit while at Georgetown. Deady and his wife, Emily, reside in the University Park section of Washington, D.C.
Assistant Coach Matt Quinn
Matt Quinn held every record in the shot put, weight throw and hammer throw as a student at CUA. He also won many Capital Athletic Conference/Mason Dixon Conference championships during his tenure. He graduated in 2001. For the past three years he has been the CUA throwers coach.
Volunteer Coach Sean Mullin
Sean Mullin is in his fourth season as the men's and women's pole vault coach. Before joining the staff, he was a pole vaulter on Coach McGee's teams from 1997 to 2001, each year earning CAC All-Academic honors. In 2000, he was named the CAC champion in the pole vault. Mullin earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from CUA's School of Architecture and Planning. He lives in Silver Spring, Md.
