Kolbeck Wins Pole Vault at Mason Dixon
Catholic University had four athletes compete at the Mason Dixon Conference Meet on Saturday in Salisbury, Md. The Cardinals placed seventh overall with just a few participants. Christopher Newport University won the meet with 203 points.

Smith Wins Conference Title in 10,000 Meters
The Catholic University mens track and field team placed fourth at the Landmark Conference Track and Field Championship Sunday in Pennsylvania. The Cardinals scored 52 points overall for the fourth spot in the six-team championship.

Field Events Strong in Fourth Place Finish
The Catholic University mens track and field team, bolstered by its field events, placed fourth out of nine teams at the Mason Dixon Invitational at Gettysburg College on Saturday. The Cardinals scored 60 points at the meet, which placed them behind Gettysburg who won the competition with 314.50. However, CUA did defeat Landmark Conference rival Goucher College who had 39 points on the day.

CUA Takes 13th at Messiah Invitational
The Catholic University mens track and field team was 13th overall at the Messiah Invitational held in Pennsylvania Saturday. The Cards scored 19 points on the day giving them 13th. Bridgewater College won the 19-team meet with 151.

CUA Track and Field Goes to Muhlenberg Invitational
The Catholic University mens track and field team competed at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday. The large meet featured nearly 700 athletes overall with over 1,100 entries and was unscored.

Mens Track Runs at Battleground Relays
The Catholic University mens track and field squad competed at the Battleground Relays held at the University of Mary Washington Saturday. CUA set a base for the remainder of the season with success in the field events and solid performances on the track.

CUA Mourns the Loss of Track and Field Great Jerry McGee
The Catholic University of America unexpectedly lost longtime mens track and field coach Jerry McGee Wednesday evening, he was 74. McGee coached the Cardinals for more than 40 years before retiring at the conclusion of the 2006 outdoor track and field season. He was a coach and mentor to innumerable student-athletes as well as a valued colleague to the CUA coaching staff.

The Catholic University mens indoor track and field squad took fourth place at the Landmark Conference Championship Saturday at Susquehanna University. The Cards scored 29 points for the day.

The Catholic University mens track and field squad competed at the Christopher Newport Invitational on Saturday and showed a number of strong performances. This was the Cardinals final test before the Landmark Conference meet in two weeks.

Cardinals Finish 13th at Ursinus
The Catholic University mens track and field squad took 13th out of 18 teams Saturday at the Frank Colden Invitational held at Ursinus College. The Cardinals scored 11 points overall. Johns Hopkins won the meet with a total of 108 points to their credit.

Cards Run at Lebanon Valley Invitational
The Catholic University mens track and field squad continued their solid start to the 2008 season with a respectable day at the Lebanon Valley Invitational Saturday. The Cardinals had nine individuals finish in the top ten and also saw the 4x400 (3:47.82) and the 4x800 (8:45.86) meter relays finish second.

Mens Track & Field Competes at Navy
The Catholic University mens track & field team competed in Annapolis, Md. at the Naval Academy Open Meet on Wednesday. The Cardinals faced all D-I squads including Virginia Commonwealth University, Delaware State University, American University, Coppin State University and the host team Naval Academy.

Catholic University Releases Spring Schedules
The Catholic University of America Department of Athletics released the spring sports schedules Wednesday afternoon. The schedules include womens lacrosse, mens lacrosse, track and field, baseball and softball. Information will be added as each season approaches.

Two Cardinals competed at the East Coast Athletic Conference Championships last weekend and both put together a strong showing at the event.

Smith Wins the 10,000 at Mason Dixon Championships
Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) won the 10,000 meters at the Mason Dixon Championships. His victory in 33:58.70 marked the first time a Cardinal had won the event. Overall the team placed sixth with 31 points.

Six Cardinals Earn University Honors
Last Thursday evening The Catholic University of America held its Student Leadership Recognition Celebration. Among the 27 undergraduate awards given out, seven were honored with six receiving individual recognition. Kelli McErlean, a member of the track and field squad, was one of the masters of ceremonies and also received one of the twelve Student Activities Awards for her work with campus ministry.

The Catholic University mens track and field team finished fourth at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships Saturday. The Cards scored 47 points which placed them behind Salisbury (262.33), York (154.66) and Mary Washington (97).

CAC Tournament Begins Monday
After a jam-packed spring season the Capital Athletic Conference has announced the pairs for five of its seven championships. The Catholic University Cardinals will be well-represented in the mix with a trio squads earning three seeds. This week's games mark the final time that CUA will play in the CAC Tournament as the Cards are joining the newly-formed Landmark Conference in 2007-08.

The Catholic University mens track and field squad put together a solid performance at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday. The team was gearing up for the conference meet which will be held next Saturday.

The Catholic University mens track and field squad placed third at the Goucher Invitational on Saturday. The team scored 82 points which was good enough to beat host and CAC-rival, Goucher (74), but CUA did fall to York who won the meet with 260 points.

The Catholic University mens track and field team posted a successful finish at the 2007 Bridgewater College Jopson Invitational. The Cardinals Mike Doster had two first place finishes at the unscored event.

Men are Fifth at Roanoke Invite
The Catholic University mens track and field team placed fifth at the Roanoke Invitational on Saturday. The Cardinals scored 72 points to rank in the top half of the ten-team invitational. The meet was the first for CUAs outdoor team after a successful indoor campaign.

The Catholic University mens track and field squad was fifth with 22 points at the Mason Dixon Conference Meet on Saturday. The Cards managed eight all conference performances in the event which was won by the host Christopher Newport Captains.

Doster Takes First at Susquehanna
The Catholic University mens track and field squad had a solid day at the Susquehanna Invitational Friday evening. Sophomore Mike Doster (Wayne, Pa./Wayne Valley) put together a great day taking first in t he 400 meters (51.20) and fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.22).

Cardinal Men Take 15th at Ursinus
The CUA mens track and field team placed 15th at the Frank Colden Invitational in Pennsylvania over the weekend. The squad had a number of strong showings at a meet that featured 33 team and only 20 that scored. The meet pitted the Cardinals against a number of teams from all divisions making it an extremely challenging day.

The Catholic University of America mens track and field squad ran at the University of Maryland in an unscored meet on Saturday. The Cards went up against mainly D-I institutions but still made an impact in a number of events.

Mens Track and Field Places Eighth in First Meet
The Catholic University mens track and field team traveled to its first indoor meet of the season Saturday afternoon. The squad placed eighth with 24.50 points out of sixteen team despite an abbreviated team and many runners competing in numerous events.

Cross Country Coach Mark Robinson has been named the successor of longtime men's track and field coach Jerry McGee.
