Doster Wins Two at Bridgewater
Cardinals post five top-three finishes
BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Catholic University men's track and field team posted a successful finish at the 2007 Bridgewater College Jopson Invitational. The Cardinals' Mike Doster (Wayne, Pa./Wayne Valley) had two first place finishes at the unscored event.
Doster was solid in the hurdles taking first in both the 400 with a 56.54 and the 110 running a 16.12. He was also part of two relay teams that both placed third, the 4x400 ran a 3:30.96 and the 4x100 finished in 46.74. Other notable performances on the track included Scott Pospiech (Ocean, N.J./Holy Spirit) who was fourth in the 800 with a 1:58.14, a five second drop from his previous personal best, and Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) who took 16 second off of his PR with a 16:13.11 in the 5000.
In the field Jacob Herring (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) placed third in the triple jump with a 40-01.00 marking his personal record. He was also fifth in the long jump with a 19-00.75. John Otto (Jefferson Township, N.J./Pope John XXIII) threw the javelin 152' for fifth place in his first college attempt. The throw ranked his second in the CAC as of Saturday.
The Cardinals will have a short trip to the Goucher Invitational next weekend.
