Men's Track Earns Fifth Place Finish at Messiah Invitational
GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Catholic University of America men's track team earned a fifth place finish at the Messiah College Invitational Saturday afternoon, tallying two first place and one second place finish at the meet.
Mike Doster (Wayne/Wayne Valley) was one of two top finishes for the Cardinals, finishing the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.38. Doster also finished second in the 110 meter hurdles in 56.38 seconds. John Mason (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin) rounded out the top scorers of the night by throwing an impressive 42.46 meters in the discuss throw. Mason also recorded two fifth place finishes in both the shot put and hammer throw.
Andrew Holdt (Dobbs Ferry/Iona Prep) earned sixth place in the high jump with a height of 1.72 meters. Teammate Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) finished 7th in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:02.83. Branden Carter and Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) both earned 9th place finishes in the 200 meter dash and 1500 meter run, respectively.
The team will hit the track this weekend for the Landmark Conference Championships at Goucher College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
