Men's Track Earns 3rd at Goucher Invitational
BALTIMORE, Md.- The Catholic University men's track team competed in the Goucher College Invitational on Saturday afternoon, placing third out of 11 teams with an overall score of 89. The Cardinals saw impressive performances from a number of team members, earning one first place, two second place, and four third-place finishes in the meet.
Michael Doster (Wayne/Wayne Valley) was CUA's lone top finish of the afternoon, earning a time of 56.31 in the 400 meter hurdles. Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) and John Mason (Brooklyn, N.Y./ Bishop Loughlin) finished second and scored 8 and six points, respectively, placing second in the 3000 meter run and discus throw. Andrew Smith also added 8 points to CUA's overall score, finishing second in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16.58.43
Among the third place finishes for the Cardinals were Doster in the 110 meter hurdles, Mason in the hammer throw, and Eric Schoeffling (Norristown, Pa./La Salle) in the javelin throw. Doster wracked up six points with a time of 16.02, while teammates Mason and Schoeffling tossed 40.16m and 46.68m, respectively. The squad also earned a third place finish in the 4x400.
CUA will return to action on April 18th, as the team travels to Messiah College for a 10 a.m., meet.
