Zemba leads CUA men at Frank Colden Invite
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Junior Matt Zemba placed first in the 400-meters with a time of 52.10 seconds to lead the Cardinals on Saturday at the Frank Colden Invitational on the campus of Ursinus College. CUA scored 33 points on the day to place sixth overall as a team.
In the track events, George Brewer placed 11th in the 800-meters with a time of 2:06.75, while Mike Puskar crossed in 18th place in the mile, posting a time of 4:52.58.
Joe Quigley finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles, crossing in 8.85 seconds.
CUA's 4x200 relay team consisting of Joe Quigley, Matt Zemba, Tyler Masi and Cameron Green crossed in second place with a time of 1:38.63, while the 4x400 team of Masi, Zemba, Green and Quigley finished fifth, with a time of 3:39.42.
Rowan placed first in the ten-team event with 131 points with host Ursinus second (116), Salisbury third (67.50), Rutgers-Camden fourth (56), Merchant Marine Academy fifth (35) and CUA in sixth.
The CUA men return to action on February 12 when the Cardinals travel to Cambridge, Mass. to compete in the MIT Invitational. Action gets underway beginning at 9 a.m.
