Cardinals claim four first place finishes at MIT
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The CUA men’s indoor track and
field team competed at the unscored MIT Invite on Saturday and the
Cardinals had several strong performances throughout. Michael
Kennedy won the 600, Matt Zemba won the 400, and the 4x400 relay
team and distance medley relay team both won their events.
Michael Kennedy won the 600-meters with a time of 1:30.71, with
Nick Pavia crossing in third place as he finished in 1:35.50.
George Brewer placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:04.70 and
Chris Derks (2:57.52) and Ryan Anderson (3:15.42) placed two-three
in the 1000-meters, respectively.
Cameron Green placed fourth in the second section of the 55-meter
dash as he crossed in a time of 7.05 seconds, while Joe Quigley
also placed fourth, in the 55 hurdles, posting a time of 8.41
seconds.
Green later went on to place second in the second section of the
200, as he finished in a time of 24.79 seconds.
In the first section of the 400-meters, Joe Funk placed second
(55.64), while in the second section, Matt Zemba took first
(52.89), Quigley came in second (53.60) and George Robinson was
fourth (59.28).
Mike Puskar crossed in fourth place in the 3000 with a time of
9:35.21.
The 4x400 relay team of Tyler Masi, Zemba, Green and Quigley won
its event with a time of 4:00.38, while Alex DaPonte, Zemba, Brewer
and Puskar won the distance medley relay in a time of 11:45.39.
The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday, February 19 when
CUA travels to compete at the Dickinson College Invite.
Action is slated to get underway at 10 a.m.
