Cardinals warm up for conference championship in Pa.
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Cardinals competed in their final
meet before this year’s conference championship on Satuday,
heading to the Mason-Dixon Invitational. CUA finished tenth
in the meet, and Shawn Brubaker, the Cardinals top finisher,
posting a second place finish in the hammer.
Michael Kennedy finished eighth in the 800, crossing in a time of
2:09.88, with Nick Pavia finishing tenth in the same event
(2:12.61).
In the mile George Brewer finished in ninth place, posting a time
of 4:46.74, and Kian Olia placed fifth in the 10,000 after crossing
in 38:09.74.
Brubaker finished second in the hammer (119’3”) and
sixth in the discus (92’7”).
Overall the Cardinals finished tenth in the team standings.
Host Gettysburg took first with 177 points, followed by Dickinson
(101), Gwynedd-Mercy (76), Albright (61), and Hagerstown CC (48) to
round out the top-five.
CUA now has two weeks off before action at the 2011 Landmark
Conference championships gets underway beginning on April 30 at 9
a.m.
