YORK, Pa. – CUA traveled to Pennsylvania on Saturday to compete at the York Invitational. The Cardinals finished eighth in the team standings with Joe Kenny posting the top individual finish after he crossed in third place in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:55.91.
In the 800 meters Joe Quigley finished fifth with a time of 2:03.55, while Kenny completed the 10,000 in 37:55.91 to place third and earn six points for the Cardinals.
The 4x400 relay team of Matt Zemba, Joe Funk, Joe Quigley and George Brewer crossed in seventh place (3:43.53), and Shawn Brubaker finished third in the hammer throw with a toss of 36.04 meters.
York earned the team title after the Spartans totaled 202 points, while Mary Washington was next with 119 points and Hood came in third with 73. Hagerstown CC (60), Howard CC (35), Thaddeus Stevens (30), Gallaudet (22), CUA (15), Stevenson (9) and Montgomery College (3) rounded out the team scoring.
CUA will return to action on Saturday, April 9 when the Cardinals compete at the Messiah College Invitational. Action gets underway beginning at 9 a.m.
