After winning conference title, Zemba named Athlete of the Week

WASHINGTON – After capturing the lone Landmark Conference championship for CUA over the weekend at the outdoor championships, Matt Zemba has been named this week's CUA Athlete of the Week.  Zemba raced his way to a first place finish in the 400 meters in a time of 50.39 seconds.

Zemba beat out 11 other competitors in the 400 to capture the individual crown and earn First Team All-Landmark Conference honors.

Zemba took second place in the 400 meters back in February at the conference indoor championships to earn Second Team All-Landmark accolades, and he also won the event at the Messiah College Invitational on April 9.

The outdoor track and field season is complete for the majority of the CUA team, with several student-athletes heading to Bethlehem, Pa. on May 19 to compete at the 2011 ECAC championships.
