Cardinals finish fifth at Landmark Conference championship

ALTOONA, Pa. - CUA placed fifth at the Landmark Conference championship on Saturday. The team was led by freshman Matthias Arauco-Shapiro, who placed sixth with a time of 27:14.10 and earned First Team All-Conference honors.  Prior to this year the Cardinals highest finish had been sixth in 2008.

Moravian took home the top team spot with 39 points followed by Susquehanna (54), Merchant Marine (75), Juniata (92), CUA (120), Scranton (175), Drew (175), and Goucher (207).

Other Cardinals who placed in the top-50 included Michael Wood in 17th (27:57.40), Lucas Milone in 33rd (28:38.00), Mike Spielberger, who placed 39th (28:58.30),  Dylan Jones, crossed in 43rd (29:07.00), and Kian Olia, who finished in 46th (29:13.30)

Moravian's Dillon Farrell (26:02.20) and Juniata's Nate Alter (26:45.70) claimed the top two individual spots.

CUA is back in action on November 10 when the Cardinals head to Atlanta, Ga. to compete at the NCAA Regional championship.  Action begins at noon.
