Arauco-Shapiro posts top-10 finish at Juniata Invite to lead CUA
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Freshman Matthias Arauco-Shapiro
finished ninth overall to lead CUA at the Juniata Invitational on
Saturday. The first year standout crossed in a time of
27:32.50 to earn eight points for the Cardinals. CUA placed
fifth in the six-team race, totaling 108 points.
Joining Arauco-Shapiro in the top-50 for CUA were Michael Wood in
13th place with a time of 27:47.80, John Brewer in 28th (28:42.50),
Dylan Jones in 31st (28:59.60), Kian Olia in 44th (29:38.80) and
Mike Spielberger in 49th (30:05.30).
Moravian claimed the top spot in the team standings with 53
points, followed by Susquehanna with 54 points, Keystone with 65,
Juniata (82), CUA (108) and Drew (145).
Dillon Farrell of Moravian won the race, crossing in a time of
26:18.60, with Keystone’s Dan Davis placing second in
26:43.50.
CUA heads to Bethlehem, Pa. for its next race, when the Cardinals
compete at the Paul Short Invitational on September 28. Start
time is set for 2:30 p.m.
