Men’s Cross Country Places Third at Mustang Stampede

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's cross country team started its season off on the right foot, placing third overall at the Mustang Stampede. It was the first meet for head coach Ian Hankins, who took over the program in January.

Perennial powerhouse Stevenson placed first overall, while the Cardinals were edged by just three points for second by PSU-Abington.

The Cardinals boasted to runners in the top six as sophomore Kevin Kuchler led the way with a top-five finish, taking fourth overall. He crossed the line with a time of 29:25.17.

Junior standout Patrick Jones took sixth overall for the Cards, completing the 8K in 30:01.28.

Catholic next competes at the site of this year's conference championship in Bethlehem, Pa., running at the Landmark Preview Meet on Friday, September 16.
