Men’s Cross Country Has Strong Showing at Paul Short Run

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's cross country team had an impressive performance on Saturday at Division I Lehigh University's Paul Short Run, one of the biggest meets of the year.

The Cardinals finished 14th overall in their group of 34 teams thanks to a pair of high marks from their top runners.

Junior Patrick Jones set a personal record with a time of 26:46 to lead the Cards, finishing 13th overall.

Sophomore Kevin Kuchler was just 31 seconds behind, crossing the finish line in 27:17, good for 35th.

Rookie Joseph LaPointe also continued his strong debut season, with a top-60 finish. He posted a time of 27:45, good for 57th.

The Cardinals will enjoy a bye week before competing on October 15, at the Gettysburg Invitational.
