LEXINGTON, VA. - Sophomore Rachel Yates (Wilton, Maine/Mount Blue) and senior Mike Audette (Rutland, Vt./Rutland) were first-place winners as both the men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Washington & Lee Invitational.
Yates repeated as the individual champion for the second straight year as she helped the women's team to a second-place overall finish while Audette and the men's team finished in third.
Freshmen Ashley Woodworth (North Hampton, N.H./Winnacunnet) and Noel Burns (Cole Spring, N.Y./JFK) finished in the top 20 of the women's race.
On the men's side Kevin Slattery (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank) and Matt Przydzial (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) also placed within the top 20 runners.
Both teams race next week in a tri-meet with Albright and York in York, Pa.
