Santuoso named All-Conference

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University men's cross country placed fifth at the CAC Championships on Saturdayin Salisbury. Sophomore Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) placed sixth overall at the meet and was named to the CAC All-Conference squad. Salisbury won the meet with 30 points while Mary Washington followed with 35, CUA came in with 129 points respectively.
After Santuoso came in at 26:24, Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) was the next finisher for the Cards placing 12th with a 26:47. Finishing in the top 15 placed Smith on the All-CAC second team.
The next four Cardinals all came in together at 51st -54th place. Andrew Cvitanovic (Belle Chase, La./Jesuit) ran a 29:20, Scott Pospiech (Ocean, N.J./Holy Spirit) had a 29:24, Kevin Milsted (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) crossed the finish line in 29:36 and Alex Maro (Haddon Township, N.J./Haddon Township) rounded out the pack with a 29:59.
The Cardinals will send a full scoring team to the NCAA Regionals next Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.
