Men Take Sixth at Conference Meet
Andrew Smith earns first team All-Landmark
TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic University men's cross country placed sixth at the Landmark Conference meet Saturday hosted by Goucher College. The Cards scored 134 points to take sixth, Susquehanna won the overall title with 52 points for the day. CUA sophomore Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) was named to the Landmark Conference first team for his performance, he placed seventh overall with a time of 28:37.
Coming in behind Smith was Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) who took 21st running a 29:56 and in 29th was Matthew Taylor (Mount Ephraim, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) with a 30:27 for the day. Stephen Jochem (Gallup, N.M./Gallup) was 38th overall with a 31:00 and rounding out the top 50 was John Puskar (Fairfield, Conn./Notre Dame Catholic) in 47th (31:41) and Scott Pospiech (Ocean, N.J./Holy Spirit) (31:52) in 49th.
The Cardinals will have next weekend off before traveling to NCAA Regionals on November 10. The regional meet will be held in Newport News, Va., at Christopher Newport University.
