Cards Place 16th at NCAA Regionals
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Catholic University men's cross country squad finished the season at NCAA Regionals on Saturday. The Cardinals placed 16th overall putting together a solid perfomance.
The top Cards ran in a pack and Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) was the top finisher for the Cardinals placing 57th in a time of 28:02. Just a few paces behind was Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) who was 60th clocking in at 28:04, crossing the finish line next was Matthew Taylor (Mount Ephraim, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) taking 72nd running a 28:28. Scott Pospiech (Ocean, N.J./Holy Spirit) led the second group with a 29:58 which was good enough for 115th and coming in with him was Stephen Jochem (Gallup, N.M./Gallup) in 118th posting a 30:07. John Puskar (Fairfield, Conn./Notre Dame Catholic) was 126th with a 30:30 and Kris Reynolds finished 147th coming in at 31:25.
The meet completes the season for the Cardinals but hopes are high for next year as the top three runners will be returning.
