Men's Cross Country Competes at NYU
Santuoso is top finisher forCUA
NEW YORK - The Catholic University men's cross country team took 17th overall at the NYU Invitational on Saturday. The Cards scored 623 points at the 23-team meet which included opponents from all divisions. Working without a full squad the team managed to best last year's performance.
Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) was the top finisher for the Cardinals coming in 71st place with a 28:33. Behind him was sophomore Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) was 114th running a 29:24. Freshmen Stephen Jochem (Gallup, N.M./Gallup) (29:38) and Matthew Taylor (Mount Ephraim, N.J./Gloucester Catholic ) (30:10) highlighted the third and fourth spots for CUA running in at 120th and 148th respectively. Rounding out the scoring was Scott Pospiech (Ocean, N.J./Holy Spirit) at 170th with a 30:40.
CUA travel to York, Pa. next weekend for the York Invitational.
