CUA men have strong showing at Hood College Invite
FREDERICK, Md. – The CUA men’s cross country team
had a strong showing at the Hood Invitational on Saturday as the
Cardinals placed third out of 13 schools with 117 points.
CUA, which was only three points off second place Waynesburg, was
led by Michael Puskar, who crossed in tenth place (28:50.22).
Other runners that finished in the top-50 for CUA included George Brewer, who was 18th with a time of 29:19.72, Kian Olia, who finished in 30:00.07 and placed 29th, Joe Quigley, who came in 42nd with a time of 31:02.36 and Kyle McKenna, who finished 50th with a time of 31:38.78.
Rounding out CUA’s competitors were Christopher Derks (53), Michael Kennedy (62), Joe Kenny (66), Ryan Anderson (73), Nick Pavia (76), and Henry Szupico (83).
Bridgewater took the team crown with 24 points, followed by Waynesburg with 114 and CUA with 117. Rounding out the team standings were Hood, Roanoke, Westminster, Howard Community College, McDaniel, Penn State-Altoona, Pitt-Greensburg, Neumann, Alvernia and Mount Aloysius.
Jeff Griffin of Bridgewater was the top individual with a time of 27:44.33, followed by unattached Bruan Flynn (27:47.00).
CUA is off next weekend and will return to action on Saturday, October 30 when the Cardinals compete at the 2010 Landmark Conference championship on the campus of Goucher College. Action gets underway beginning at 11:00 AM.
