Cardinals place third at Washington and Lee Invite
LEXINGTON, Va. – The CUA men’s cross country team
placed third in the season opening Washington and Lee Invitational
on Saturday as the Cardinals totaled 92 team points. Mike
Puskar was the top finisher for CUA as he crossed in seventh place
with a time of 29:35.
Along with Puskar, CUA’s other finishers were George Brewer, who placed 12th in a time of 30:23, Kian Olia, who crossed in 14th with a time of 30:28, Garitt Quigley, who finished 35th in 34:30, Chris Derks, who came in 38th place in a time of 34:47, Kyle McKenna, who completed the race in 34:56 and finished in 39th place, Joe Kenny, who posted a 41st place finish in 34:59, Michael Kennedy who crossed in 43rd place in 35:19, Ryan Anderson who crossed in 48th place in 36:39 and Nicholas Pavia who came in 54th place in 39:51.
Roanoke took home top team honors with 29 points and was followed by Washington and Lee (45), CUA (92), Southern Virginia (128), Hampden-Sydney (137), Randolph College (172), Emory & Henry (175), and Bluefield (177).
Individually, Washington and Lee’s Matt Gossett was the top finisher as he crossed in a time of 28:56.

CUA will return to the trail on September 18 when the Cardinals travel to compete in the Maryland-Eastern Shore Invitational. Action gets underway at 10:30 AM.
