Curto claims Landmark Conference Player of the Week award
WASHINGTON – After going 7 for 11 in four games for CUA last week, Nina Curto was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Curto totaled seven hits, three runs scored, three doubles, four RBI and a slugging percentage of .909 in leading CUA to a 3-1 record.
Curto began her week by going 1 for 3 with a run scored in a game one win vs. Stevenson on March 15.
Three days later, Curto went a perfect 6 for 6 in a doubleheader sweep of Gallaudet. The junior first baseman also scored twice, totaled three doubles and drove in four runs in the two games vs. the Bison.
For the season, Curto is batting .292 in 14 games with 14 hits, four doubles, eight RBI and 21 total bases. She has also posted a .974 fielding percentage.
Curto and the Cardinals return to action on Thursday afternoon when they play host to Randolph-Macon in a doubleheader. Start time for game one is set for 3 p.m.
