Catholic Softball Tabbed Second in Landmark Preseason Poll

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America softball team has been selected to finish second overall in the Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

Moravian was the first-place pick after receiving six first-place votes for a total of 60 points. Catholic received the final first-place vote and 50 points to finish second in the poll while Susquehanna University finished third with 31 points and Scranton in fourth with 22 to round out the top half of the poll.

Head coach Bruce McConkey went 9-3 in Landmark action a year ago to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Catholic returns three all-league players in senior Erin Adams, junior Megan Colline and sophomore Kelly Lynch to go along with several others expected to take steps to be among the conference's best.

Catholic began its season last Friday with a double-header sweep at Gallaudet. The Cards now head south to Clermont, Fla., for the PFX Spring Games that start on Sunday.
