WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America softball concluded its regular season on Sunday at CUA Softball field with a sweep of Stevenson. The Cardinals took game one, 7-1, and followed it up with a 6-3 victory.
Sophomore starter Kelly Lynch was locked in for both games as she went the distance in game one. She scattered five hits and allowed just one run with two strikeouts.
Catholic scored in each of the first four innings which included a four-run third.
Catholic put a three-run first inning capped by a sacrifice fly from senior Tayler Falvey who finished the game with two sac flys after going 1-for-3 with a run in the first contest.
Lynch was outstanding in game two as well as she came on in relief and went 2.1 hitless innings with two more strikeouts for the save.
Catholic now moves on the Landmark Conference Championship Tournament for the seventh-straight year where they take on Susquehanna on Friday at 1 p.m., at Moravian.
