WASHINGTON – Catholic University Head Softball Coach Bruce McConkey and his coaching staff will host a prospect camp this fall on Sunday, Sept. 29 in the DuFour Athletic Center and at the CUA Softball Field in Washington, D.C.
The prospect camp is designed for highly skilled high school student-athletes striving to take their game to the next level of college softball.
McConkey and his staff’s goals are simple: they will provide instruction to improve each player’s fundamental skills, increase their understanding and confidence in all phases of the game of softball, and prepare players to the fullest for their potential collegiate careers. They will also discuss the recruiting process and provide feedback on each player’s skills.
During drill sessions, players will be evaluated based on:
- Arm Strength
- Running Speed
- Fielding Ability
All participating student-athletes will have the opportunity to meet, learn and be evaluated by the current CUA coaching staff including McConkey, who is in his 12th season with the Cardinals, assistant coaches Barry Holley, Greg Boyd, Don Baker, and Rachel Marrion. Members of the 2013-14 CUA softball team will also be on hand to assist with the camp and provide prospects with a chance to meet this year’s team.
