1997 Season
SEASON IN REVIEW: The 1997 softball team finished fourth in the CAC with a 2-20 record. Senior catcher/pitcher Whitney Dunn was second in the nation in batting (.617) and third in doubles per game (0.59). She made the ECAC Southern All-Star Team for the second straight year and was second-team all-CAC. The .617 average is the third highest ever recorded in Division III history, while her .466 career average ranks 18th all-time. Sophomore Christine Runfola played catcher, pitcher and infield and made first-team all-CAC Utility. She hit .471 (46th in the nation) and led the team with 19 RBI. Junior infielder/outfielder Patricia Fontecchio batted .381 and freshman shortstop Jen Quinn .283 with one home run.
