|Galloway nabs CAC Athlete of the Week honors||Mar 30, 2004|
WASHINGTON-- Junior Sarah Galloway (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Athlete of the Week for March 22-28.
The pitcher/first baseman paced the Cardinals to a 5-1 record on the week, including the squad's first two CAC wins on the season Galloway went 12-for-20 in six games with three home runs and 10 RBI.
Her first longball of the week accounted for CUA's only runs in a 2-1 win at Randolph-Macon.
She then went 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI in a 17-2 win over Gallaudet. She capped off the week with a 3-for-3 effort with three RBI and her third homer to help CUA earn a sweep over Mary Baldwin.
On the season, Galloway leads the Cardinals in batting (.450), home runs (6), and RBI (19). She is also 6-5 on the hill with 51 strikeouts, including a one-hitter in the first game against Gallaudet, striking out five.
