Catholic University Softball to Hold Prospect Camp
WASHINGTON-- The Catholic University Softball Program will host a fall Prospect Instructional Camp on October 11, 2009 on-campus at the CUA DuFour Athletic Center and Softball Complex. The camp is open to all high school student-athletes striving to reach their full potential and eventually compete at the college level.
Our Camp coaching staff and instructors will include the Catholic University Coaching Staff led by Head Coach Bruce McConkey, head assistant Barry Holley, and other assistant coaches including Greg Boyd, Don Baker and Mike Kriner. Varsity players from the 2009-2010 Catholic University Softball Team will be on staff to participate as assistant camp instructors, as well.
Our camp goals are to provide a forum for prospective student-athletes to display their athletic and softball talents to the college coaches on our camp staff. We will also provide instruction to improve each player's fundamental skills, increase their understanding and confidence in all phases of the game of softball, and prepare players to the fullest for their potential college softball careers. We will include a session on Catholic University academic requirements and expectations, the recruiting and admissions process, balancing academics and softball, and a Catholic University campus tour.
