Rizzi named to All-Region Team
CUA junior Megan Rizzi has been named to the 2011 NFCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team. This marks the second straight year in which Rizzi earns All-Region recognition. The honor comes just days after she was named a First Team All-Landmark Conference selection.

She led the Cardinals with a .395 batting average this season and ranked in the top-five in the Landmark Conference in hits (45), runs (31), RBI (35), doubles (14), home runs (4) and total bases (73). The 2009 conference Rookie of the Year, Rizzi earned her second straight selection to the All-Conference First Team this year.
A native of New Hampshire, Rizzi collected two or more hits 14 times in 2011 and drove in multiple runs eight times. In the field she totaled 62 putouts and 92 assists at shortstop, while maintaining a .917 fielding percentage.
CUA went 23-17 this season, including 6-4 within the Landmark Conference. It marked the Cardinals second consecutive 20-win season. CUA advanced all the way to the Landmark Conference championship game this season, marking the first time since 2008 it accomplished that feat.
