ECAC names Rizzi to its All-Star Team
WASHINGTON – Megan Rizzi has been named a 2011 ECAC
Division III South Second Team All-Star, it was announced on
Wednesday. An All-Region and All-Conference selection, Rizzi
led the Cardinals with a .395 batting average this season in
helping lead CUA to 23 wins and an appearance in the Landmark
Conference championship game.
Rizzi hit .395 in 40 games for the Cardinals, and ranked in the
top-five in the conference in hits (45), runs (31), RBI (35),
doubles (14), home runs (4) and total bases (73). The 2009
conference Rookie of the Year, Rizzi has been a first team
All-Conference selection each of the last two seasons.
A native of New Hampshire, Rizzi collected two or more hits 14
times in 2011 and drove in multiple runs eight times. In the
field she totaled 62 putouts and 92 assists at shortstop, while
maintaining a .917 fielding percentage.
