Rizzi rewarded for strong play during spring break trip
WASHINGTON – After batting .536 during CUA’s spring
break trip, junior Megan Rizzi was named the Landmark Conference
Player of the Week on Monday. Rizzi totaled 15 hits in nine
games, including five doubles and one homerun, to go along with a
slugging percentage of .821.
Rizzi posted six games with multiple hits during CUA’s stay
in Florida, and she recorded an on base percentage of .606.
She also drove in 10 runs.
In the field Rizzi was equally as impressive, totaling 18 putouts
and 19 assists.
CUA and Rizzi will be back in action on Sunday, March 20 when the
Cardinals travel to take on Randolph-Macon in a doubleheader.
Game one gets underway beginning at 1:30 p.m.
