Former Cardinal standout Rachel Marrion is in her third season
as an assistant coach with the CUA softball program. Marrion
started all four years for CUA as an undergrad, first as a catcher
and later at third base, and also served as captain of the team
during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
Off the field, Marrion was awarded the SAAC Student-Athlete Role
Model award as a senior, and she also received the Martha Comisky
award for her leadership to the university and
community. Marrion graduated in 2007 with a double
major in politics and education.
Following graduation, Marrion traveled to Cameroon, West Africa
where she served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps. She was
also selected as a reserve player on the Great Britain national
softball team in 2007.
In her current coaching role with CUA, Marrion works with the
Cardinal infielders and catchers, in addition to recruitment,
strength and conditioning, camps and clinics, and academic
support.
Marrion is currently working on a master’s degree in
education and plans to become a high school social studies
teacher. She resides in Riverdale Park, Md. and works in
Falls Church, Va.
