8/22/2007

WASHINGTON- The Catholic University women's swim team was named to the Division III Academic All-American listing by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

The squad had an overall GPA of 3.370 for the 2007 winter/spring semester.  This ranked them 35th overall in Division III.  Only two members of the Capital Athletic Conference ranked above the Cardinals and just one from the newly-formed Landmark Conference which CUA will be participating in this upcoming season.

Division III had the highest overall GPA for both men and women.  Pomona-Pitzer was at the top for the women with a 3.68 while Washington University topped the men's list with a 3.64. Washington & Lee was second in both rankings giving them the overall crown.
