Strong weekend earns Capozella weekly award from Landmark

WASHINGTON – Following a weekend in which he was part of
six wins, Caleb Capozella has been named this week’s Landmark
Conference Male Swimmer of the Week. Capozella helped lead
the Cardinals to victory over conference rival Goucher on
Saturday.
Capozella had quite a weekend for CUA, winning the 200 IM in a
time of 2:03.54 and the 100 backstroke in a time of 55.48 against
St. Mary’s on Friday evening. The sophomore standout
also was a part of the 200 medley relay team that claimed first
place vs. the Seahawks.
On Saturday Capozella was at it again, this time winning three
individual races, including the 200 IM (2:05.16), the 100 butterfly
(54.28) and the 100 backstroke (55.10).
Capozella and CUA will return to the pool on Saturday, November 5
when they travel to Pennsylvania to compete vs. Susquehanna.
