CUA wraps up first semester schedule against Hoyas

WASHINGTON – CUA wrapped up its weekend against Division I
opponents on Saturday by taking on Georgetown across town.
The men fell to the Hoyas 125-69, while the women were upended
124-73.
In women’s action, Joanna Ladas won the 500 free in a time
of 5:21.18, while Katherine Kelly took first in the 100
breaststroke, with a time of 1:17.60. Kelly was followed by
Chelsea Hewitt (1:18.34) and Laura Keehn (1:18.37).
After winning two events on Friday vs. Howard, Julia Wisler placed
second in the 50 free (25.48) on Saturday.
CUA took the first three spots in the 200 freestyle relay, led by
Rose Buckley, Rachel Berry, Ladas and Nicole DiGiacinto (1:46.02)
in first place.
On the men’s side, Justin Kenyon took first in the 500 free,
touching in a time of 5:11.94, while Luke Granelli won the 100
breaststroke in a time of 1:05.89 and Brendan Place placed second
in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.69).
The quartet of Stephen Gill, Stephen Henderson, Chris LeDonne and
Brendan Reilly won the 200 free relay (1:34.47), while Evan
Hundley, Josh Cutter, Zack Hutton and Paul McGee took second
(1:41.31).
CUA is now off for the next month before returning to action on
Saturday, January 14 when the Cardinals host Scranton inside the
DuFour Center. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
