WASHINGTON – CUA began its 2011-12 season on Friday
evening with an un-scored meet vs. American and George Washington
inside the DuFour Center. Joanna Ladas finished third in the
500 free, while Dominic Grillo posted a fourth place finish in the
50 free to lead the Cardinals individually.
In the women’s events, Ladas crossed in third in the 500
free with a time of 5:23.50
Julia Wisler finished seventh in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:22.03,
while Ladas posted a ninth place finish with a time of
2:22.25. Wisler later placed sixth in the 50 free, touching
in a time of 25.69 seconds.
Nicole Digiacinto recorded a 17th place finish in the 50 free,
posting a time of 27.41.
On the men’s side, Grillo placed fourth in the 50 free with
a time of 22.38, with Stephen Gill (15), Brendan Reilly (16) and
Caleb Capozella (17) coming in 15th through 17th place.
Capozella also finished 14th in the 200 IM, with a time of
2:05.96.
These same three teams will get together on Saturday for another
unscored meet. Action begins at noon with the final meet
slated for 5 p.m. American will show live video of the 5:00
meet here.
