Wisler and Capozella shine for CUA; Cards drop meet in Pa.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – CUA dropped its first conference meet
of the season on Saturday, falling to the Susquehanna
Crusaders. The men fell 146-115, while the women were upended
164-98. Individually, Julia Wisler was part of three first
place finishes, and Caleb Capozella was part of four.
On the women's side, in the 200 medley relay, Nicole Digiacinto,
Ali Taylor, Rachel Berry and Wisler placed second with a time of
1:59.76.
CUA took the first two spots in the 200 freestyle relay, with
Joanna Ladas, Digiacinto, Ashley Wilson, and Wisler winning the
event (1:47.37) and Berry, Rose Buckley, Andrea Durbin and Aubree
Guidon placing second (1:49.70).
Wisler also claimed first in the 50 free (25.60) and 100 free
(55.65).
On the men’s side, the 200 medley relay team of Capozella,
Luke Granelli, Dominic Grillo and Stephen Gill took first after
posting a time of 1:43.35.
Brendan Reilly, Brendan Place, Gill and Grillo came in second in
the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.77.
Justin Kenyon claimed the 1000 free crown with a time of 10:47.92,
while Capozella earned a first place finish in the 100 backstroke
(54.81), 200 backstroke (2:08.61) and 400 IM (4:28.59).
CUA will return to the pool on Saturday, November 12 when the
Cardinals host Salisbury inside the DuFour Center. Start time
is set for 1 p.m.
