Seven Cardinals named All-Conference, including two on First Team

WASHINGTON – The Landmark Conference announced its All-Conference swim teams on Tuesday, and CUA had seven student-athletes honored. Julia Wisler and Rachel Berry received First Team honors after capturing individual championships this past weekend, while Nicole DiGiacinto, Chelsea Doyle, Michelle Navarro and Laura Keehn were named to the Second Team.

Wisler won two individual championships, including the 50 free (24.69) and 100 free (53.431). The sophomore also placed second in the 100 fly and was part of three second place relay teams (400 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay, 800 freestyle relay).

Joining Wisler on the First Team was Berry, who earned a title in the 100 butterfly (59.87).  Berry also took second in the 200 fly and was a member of the 400 medley relay team.

CUA's quartet in the 400 medley relay team included Berry, Wisler, Navaro and Keehn. 

In the 400 freestyle relay, Wisler, DiGiacinto, Doyle and Navarro teamed up to finish second, and in the 800 freestyle relay, Navarro, DiGiactino, Doyle and Wisler combined to earn a second place finish.

CUA completed its season this past weekend at the conference championships.  The women placed third overall, while the men finished fifth. In addition, Head Coach Paul Waas and his staff were named the Women's Coaching Staff of the Year for the second time in the last three seasons.
