CUA women open weekend at home vs. Mount St. Mary's

WASHINGTON – The CUA women took on Mount St. Mary's on Friday evening at home.  Gabby Giambagno and Julia Wisler posted first place finishes, while Giambagno, Laura Keehn, Laurie Wei and Nicole DiGiacinto earned second place finishes.  Mount St. Mary's won the meet 130-75.

Giambagno won the 1000 freestyle in 11:25.84 and Wisler took first in the 100 free with a time of 56.52.

Giambagno also took second in the 500 free (5:45.64), while Keehn finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.07).

Wei (1:02.62) and Rachel Berry (1:02.69) finished in second and third, respectively, in the 100 butterfly, and DiGiacinto (1:06.06) and Chelsea Doyle (1:06.09) did the same in the 100 backstroke.

In the relay events, CUA's foursome of DiGiacinto, Keehn, Berry and Rose Buckley finished second in the 200-yard medley relay in 2:00.14. 

Nicole Castellano, DiGiacinto, Wisler and Berry placed second in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing in 1:47.43.

On Saturday, the entire Cardinal team hosts Randolph-Macon inside the DuFour Center.  Start time is set for 1 p.m.
