CUA swim teams receive Scholar All-America awards

WASHINGTON – The CUA men’s and women’s swim teams were recently honored with Team Scholar All-America awards from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Recipients receive the award for achieving this standard in the fall semester and during the semester of the NCAA swimming and diving championship.

The CUA women achieved a 3.13 grade point average during the fall semester, while the men checked in with a 3.07 team GPA.

At last month’s Landmark Conference championship, the CUA women placed third with 475.5 points, while the men came in fifth place with 300 points.

Head Coach Paul Waas and his staff were named the Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year, and seven Cardinals earned All-Conference recognition.
