WASHINGTON – With an impressive 118.5 points on the women's side and 115 points on the men's side, CUA defeated St. Mary's of Maryland on Friday.
The women's 118.5 to 86.5 win marks the first CUA women's win under the direction of head coach Paul Waas against St. Mary's.
Guido Saccaggi and Dominic Grillo earned notable wins on the men's side. Saccaggi took first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.47, he finished first in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:58.80 and also took the top spot in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:21.72. Grillo obtained his first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and he joined Caleb Capozella, Joe Cihak and Matt Wagner to complete the 200-yard medley relay in 1:39.80 for first.
The Cardinals take on Salisbury on Saturday, Nov. 2 in a 1 p.m. meet.
