Cardinal Swimmers topped by Marymount (November 12, 2005)
FAIRFAX, VA--The Catholic University Men's and Women's Swim Team both fell to 0-2 in the CAC after being swept by Marymount University Saturday. The Men's team fell by a score of 108-91, while the Women were defeated by a score of 128-77.
The Men were once again led by Senior Paul Czar (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) who captured the 200 Freestyle in a time of 1:56.96 and the 100 Free in a season best 50.78, and Sophomore Reik Foust (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) who captured the 1000 Free in a time of 10:29.30 and the 200 Backstroke in a time of 2:05.39. Greg Thibault (Easy Lyme, CT/St. Bernard's) won the 200 Breaststroke in a time of 2:30.17 for the only other individual win, while the 400 Medley Relay of Czar, Thibault, James Sanders (Belle Harbor, NY/Archbishop Malloy) and Foust won with a time of 3:53.83.
On the Women's side, Freshman Leigh Ann Scoppetuolo (Plantation, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) continues to lead the way by capturing the 200 Freestyle in a time of 2:01.09 and the 500 Freestyle in a time of 5:23.65. Olivia Chasse (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley) earned the only win for the Cardinal Women in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:36.60.
