CUA Moves Into Third on Day Two of CAC's
Foust earns his second all-conference award
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.- The Catholic University men's and women's swim team continued their strong showing on the second day of the Capital Athletic Conference Championships. The men moved into third place with 271 points and the women stayed in fourth notching 198.
Rian Foust (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) posted his second All-CAC individual performance of the weekend taking first in the 400 IM with a 4:14.86. Kevin Cravedi (Bethesda, MD/Good Counsel) was second team all conference with a second place finish in the 200 free swimming a 1:47.16. Other notable performances included Casey Stoecklin (Windsor, CT/Northwest Catholic) taking fifth (1:01.88) and Mike Hoak (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis) placing sixth (1:02.48) in the 100 breast. The 200 medley relay of Dan Finnegan (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan), Chris Totten (Warren, Ohio/JFK Catholic), Stoecklin and Hoak took fourth with a 1:41.99.
On the women's side, Liz McGinn (Kingsport, Tenn./Dobyns-Bennett) had the top individual swim of the day with a fourth place finish (1:02.44). Alyssa Dorval (Conway, MA/Frontier Regional) placed fifth in the 100 breast with a 1:11.13 and Krystal Dole (Corbin, KY/Model) took sixth in the 200 free swimming a 2:01.05. The 800 free relay was third with a 8:20.18. The team was comprised of Solongo Erdenekhuyag (Rockville, Md./Rockville), Caitlin Schettino (Babylon/St. Anthony's), Helene Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) and Dole.
The championship meet will conclude on Sunday with the finals scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
