Foust Earns All-Conference on First Day of CAC Championship

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.- The Catholic University men' swim teams started out in the middle of the pack after day one of the Capital Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.  The women are currently in fourth with 86 points and the men are in fifth with 102.

The women's top finish of the evening was third place in the 200 free relay.  The team of Samantha McClellan (Union Town, Ohio/St. Thomas), Liz McGinn (Kingsport, Tenn./Dobyns-Bennett), Krystal Dole (Corbin, KY/Model) and Helene Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) swam to a 1:41.33.  The 400 medley relay of Olivia Chasse (Greensboro, NC/Grimsley), Katelyn Kenny (Estell Manor, NJ/Holy Spirit), Dole and McGinn placed fourth with a 4:10.08.  Dole had the top individual performance of the day taking fifth in the 50 free with a 25.46.

Rian Foust (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was part of three strong events Friday evening highlighted by a second place finish in the 200 IM (1:59.18) which was good enough for all-conference honors.  Mike Hoak (Hamburg, NY/St. Francis), Dan Finnegan (Philadelphia, PA/Archibishop Ryan) and Kevin Cravedi (Bethesda, MD/Good Counsel) teamed up to swim a 1:28.57 in the 200 free relay which was good enough for third.  Foust, Hoak and Cravedi rounded out the top finishes along with Casey Stocklin (Windsor, CT/Northwest Catholic) for a third in the 400 medley relay with a 3:39.0

The meet will continue on Saturday with preliminaries in the morning and finals at night.
