BALTIMORE-- Lisa Brooks (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) and Brian Jones (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) led the CUA swimmers this weekend at Loyola as the Cardinals opened the 2008-09 season.

Although the Cardinals failed to record a win there were a few bright spots to this year's opening meet. Brooks finished 7th in the 100-yard Breaststroke in a time of 1:11.22, then followed with a 10th place finished in the 200-yard Breaststroke.

Jones finished 12th in the 200-yard Freestyle in a time of 1:52.20, then finished 16th in the 100-yard Freestyle.

While these places may not seem very high, the level of competion was extremely high, as Boston College, Navy, and Loyola are all Division I institutions.

CUA will return to action Friday, October 17th, as the Cardinals will travel to American University to take on both American University and George Washington.
