Lisa Brooks Competes in the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships
Minneapolis, Minn.- Sophomore Lisa Brooks (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) has spent the last four days competing in the 2009 Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The Meet featured the top 355 women's swimmers in the country and took place at the Aquatics Center on the Campus of the University of Minnesota.
Although she did not qualify for any finals, she represented Catholic very well and gained great experience to build on in the next two years.
On Wednesday, Brooks swam in the 200 IM. She finished with a time of 2:18.13.
Brooks returned to the pool on Friday to compete in the 100 yard Breaststroke Prelims. She was just four tenths of a second shy of qualifying for the finals, finishing with a time of 1:05.65.
Today, Brooks swam in her last event at the Championships, the 200 yard Breaststroke and finished in a time of 2:24.87.
Brooks was the first female Catholic swimmer to qualify for the Championships since 1995.
Swimming at the Championships marked a fitting end to a great season in which Lisa earned two Landmark Conference Championships.
