Swim Team Falls to Susquehanna
SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Catholic University swimming and diving team fell to host Susquehanna University Saturday afternoon, despite several outstanding individual performances. The Crusaders edged the women's team 140-116, while the men's squad fell 156-101.
Lisa Brooks led the Cardinals on the women's side, earning two individual first place finishes at the meet. Brooks competed in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:08.94. The junior also competed in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, earning a time of 2:31.94.
Melanie Rebechi also nabbed a top finish for the Cards, swimming the 400 Yard Individual Medly in 5:18.10. The relay team of Connelly, Mary Kate Connelly, Lisa Brooks, Kristen Gunn, and Kristen Johnson rounded out CUA's first place finishes by finishing atop the Women 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
The men's squad garnered three first place finishes of their own. Stephen Johnson earned first in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 57.59. Kevin Cravedi and Stephen Henderson finished first and second, respectively, in the 400 Yard Individual Medly. The team of Johnson, Brendan Reilly, Brendan Place, and Brian Jones also earned a top finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.
The team will return to action on November 14 for a 1:00 p.m., home meet against Howard University.
