Swim Team Rallies Past Goucher

BALTIMORE- Catholic University's swim team found success at the October 31st meet at Goucher College, defeating the Gophers 128-71 on the women's side, and 108-74 on the men's.

The women's team witnessed a number of outsanding performances at the meet, including seven first place finishes. The relay team of Mary Kate Connelly, Lisa Brooks, Rose Buckley, and Kristen Gunn earned first place in the 400 Yard Medley with a time of 4:23.60.Brooks also finished atop the 200 Yard Individual Medly and 200 Yard Breast Stroke.

Chelsey Lukens and Buckley earned a top finishes in the 1650 Yard and 50 Yard Freestyle, respectively. Melani Rebechi captured the top spot in the 200 Yard Butterfly, while teammate Connelly took first in the 200 Yard Back Stroke.

The men's squad also had a fantastic showing, earning six top finishes at the event. The relay team of Stephen Henderson, Paul McGee, John DiCarlo, and Brendan Place finished first in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. Johnson also earned a first place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle, while Place finished atop the 200 Yard Freestyle.

Brian Jones earned two top finishes in both the 500 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard Butterfly events. Kevin Cravedi nabbed the top spot in the 200 Yard Butterfly, wrapping up a highly successful meet for the Cardinals.

 

The team will return to action on Saturday, November 7th, as they head to Susquehanna for a 2 p.m., meet.
